smpatch

when i run "smpatch analyze > /tmp/analyze.output" i get "Cannot connect to retrieve detectors: Server returned HTTP response code: 401 for URL:https://updateserver.sun.com/solaris/" --- when i go tohttps://updateserver.sun.com/solaris using IE, i get prompted for my sunsolve signon and password, but then it states the page is not there --- anyone else having this problem ?

What does "smpatch get" show?
You might have to apply a patch utils patch before you can use smpatch
(depending on your current patch level).
Was this working before? How long ago?

The current default settings look like:

patchpro.backout.directory - ""
patchpro.baseline.directory - /var/sadm/spool
patchpro.download.directory - /var/sadm/spool
patchpro.install.types -
rebootafter:reconfigafter:standard
patchpro.patch.source - https://getupdates1.sun.com/
patchpro.patchset - current2
patchpro.proxy.host - ""
patchpro.proxy.passwd **** ****
patchpro.proxy.port - 8080
patchpro.proxy.user - ""
patchpro.backout.directory - ""
patchpro.download.directory /hg_save/patches4/patches /var/sadm/spool
patchpro.install.types rebootafter:reconfigafter:rebootimmediate:reconfig i mmediate:singleuser:standard rebootafter:reconfigafter:standard
patchpro.patch.source https://getupdates1.sun.com/https://updateserver.sun.com/solaris/
patchpro.patchset current2 patchdb1
patchpro.proxy.host - ""

patchpro.proxy.passwd **** ****
patchpro.proxy.port - 8080
patchpro.proxy.user - ""
patchpro.sun.passwd **** ****
patchpro.sun.user 123456 ""

do you know what the patch number is (for solaris 9) for the patch utils you mentioned?

the machine was last patched 1/19/2009
112951-14<http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/document.do?assetke y=1-21-112951-14-1>.
But it's been a while since we've been on Solaris 9.
