HDLM licensing for USP-V and AIX / VIO server configuration.

www.unixbabuforum.inHDLM licensing, and one of the answers I got was that the USP V, being an enterprise array, comes with, by default, a site license for HDLM for use on any attached systems.
I'm investigating deploying HDLM onto all our AIX systems and VIOs. We have an enterprise array USP V, we have Thunders and Lightning arrays which we are transitioning from.
Few questions.
1. Do USP-Vs come with a site license for HDLM by default meaning that we shouldnt need to pay for HDLM on a per system basis or not?
2. is it possible to implement HDLM into a VIO or stand alone system without incuring an outage to the client LPARs (in the case of VIOs) or without a reboot?
TIA for your time people...
www.unixbabuforum.inI think for the point # 1, it is better to contact HDS to find out the licensing part. For the HDLM installation i strongly feel that a reboot is required. I did an ODM update quite some time back and HDS recommends reconfiguring your disk devices, i.e Install the drivers-->Umount FS-->varyoffvg-->rmdev -dl fcsi(n) -R-->cfgmgr and then validate the driver installation followed by reboot of AIX

www.unixbabuforum.inHDLM licences are not bundled with the USP\V
arrays. You need to pay for each host licence
