How to extend the LV on the VIOS and present to LPAR

www.unixbabuforum.inI need to extend an LV on the VIOS server and subsequently extend the LV on the Client LPAR.

I have Free PP's on the VIOS disks

hdisk1:2128 tsmdata_lv:1198
hdisk1:2129 tsmdata_lv:1199
hdisk1:2130 tsmdata_lv:1200

What would be the steps to perform this operation.

extendlv - on the vios
varyoff the VG on the client side, extend, then vary back on?
www.unixbabuforum.inCheck if the lv or FS you are trying to extend is mirrored, if yes, I think the mirror policy is strict (which by default) meaning the two copies should be on two different disks, It seems after adding the disk the vg now has 3 disks

www.unixbabuforum.inGuessing that you are ussing mirroring. Check of both partner disks have the amount free you want the logical to be increased by.

After you succesful increased the logical volume on the vios, use on the lpar "chvg -g <vg>" to let the volumegroup know the disks are grown in size.
