Finding Free Disk Space

www.unixbabuforum.inI am running the following df command to find the free disk space. However, every time I run the command (in a script) it comes back with different numbers.

First run:
$ df -g /repprd14/cdsf/POT_2013
Filesystem GB blocks Free %Used Iused %Iused Mounted on
/dev/lv26 1024.00 613.43 41% 1882 1% /repprd14

$ df -g /repprd15/cdsf/POT_2013
Filesystem GB blocks Free %Used Iused %Iused Mounted on
/dev/lv27 1024.00 463.44 55% 739 1% /repprd15

www.unixbabuforum.inIf it is moving around by a few MB, that's just background stuff.

It you are seeing 20GB coming and going continuously, you might want to find out what is causing that level of activity.

It it just grows and grows towards 100%, you need to figure when it seems likely to get there and take some remedial action.

www.unixbabuforum.inCheck open files by "lsof"

Some processes creates huge files, then release it,
