www.unixbabuforum.in1. #minicom -s
Serial port setup

A - Serial Device : /dev/ttyS0
E - Bps/Par/Bits : 9600 8N1

send "AT" to modem, you will recive "OK"

2. yum install gnokii
$ cat .gnokiirc
port = /dev/ttyS0
model = AT
initlength = default
connection = serial
use_locking = no
serial_baudrate = 9600
smsc_timeout = 10

3.test
gnokii --identify
gnokii --dialvoice xxxxxxxxxxx
echo "test SMS" | gnokii --sendsms xxxxxxxxxxx
www.unixbabuforum.inTry to find proper device driver from internet and install it
normally for installation you must install kernel-headers and kernel-devel
execute uname -a and see kernel-version ...

installation is easy,normally ./configure; make && make install is enough
