How to Upgrade Packages in the Existing Version Using Yum from Yum Server

www.unixbabuforum.inI have a server (yum client) which is running RHEL 5.6 version installed a year ago. I would like to update the server with new package/patches. I do have a seperate yum server which gets all the packages from RHN and stores in 5Server directory (It has all the versions of the packages which starts from 5.1 to 5.9 in the same repo).

If i do "yum update" on my yum client which is 5.6, it will get updated with all packages in the repo for 5Server and changes to 5.9 version. I don't want to do that. I just have to update only the same version packages. i.e only 5.6 should be updated with it's updated packages.
www.unixbabuforum.inRedHat does not recognizes, for patching purposes, minor release levels,
i.e. a 5.6 with the latest patches will be a 5.9, the difference between a
5.6 and 5.7 are device driver support, same with 5.8 and 9, but as far as
binary compatibility and certification goes, RedHat only recognizes it as a
RHEL 5.
