HP-UX Authentication with Windows Active Directory

www.unixbabuforum.inAs part as the SAP on HP-UX installation my customer is running we have to configure HP-UX to use Windows Active Directory as authentication method for userids connecting to the HP-UX system as admin users.
Have anyone ever done this before ??, i now about the SFU schema we have to install at Windows Domain servers to send LDAP info from UNIX to Windows, any other thing we have to know or any experience ??

www.unixbabuforum.inWe currently has HPUX integrated with the Windows AD for authorization and authentication. There are some papers out on docs.hp.com that provide sample configuration steps.

You need ldapux client, kerberos clients and PAM/kerberos integration modules install on the HPUX side in order to perform password checking and keeping of all users and groups inside the AD. You will need SFU installed on you AD servers.

It is a little bit of effort to setup and test but worth the effort to provide users with a single authentication point and simplify the userid/security administration if your dealing with a lot of HPUX servers.
