When is the next version of Solaris to be released?

www.unixbabuforum.inI just happened to check for a new Solaris version today (17 Sep 2010) and U9 is available for download:

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/solaris/downloads/index.html

Full DVD Image (zip):
Oracle Solaris 10 (SPARC) (2,079,737,380 bytes)
Oracle Solaris 10 (x86) (2,009,606,091 bytes)

Download Requirements

10 GB of free disk space required
High-speed Internet connection
DVD Writeable Drive
Blank media: 1 DVD R or DVD-R
Software capable of transferring ISO images to media

www.unixbabuforum.inAnd that's as good as it'll get till next year.

Oracle canceled the OpenSolaris program.
They have announced that the next version
( 11?) will come next year. Until then, there
is the regular release schedule that Stephen
refers to. Oracle did say they would continue
to release portions (perhaps the majority, I'm
not sure) of Solaris under an open license. Just
not before the official release as OSol was doing.
