Authentication to Microsoft ADAM fails from AIX 6.1 server

www.unixbabuforum.inI support an applicaiton which connects and authenticates to Microsoft ADAM. I've configured ADAM and checked the connection with a freeware ldap browser JxPlorer and it connects. My application, however, says I have the base DN or the password wrong. I found ldapsearch utility on my AIX server from an Oracle client install and ran: ldapsearch -h adam_prod.xxxx.local -p 389 -D "CN=root" -b "CN=hhhhhh,dc=YY" -w pwd and receive this error - ldap_search: additional info: 000004DC: LdapErr: DSID-0C09062B, comment: In order to perform this operation a successful bind must be completed on the connection., data 0, vece. Google tells me this is a credentials issue? But ldap browser connect works?

www.unixbabuforum.inAssuming that you ran jxplorer from the AIX machine (or that you can
confirm that you can connect to port 389 on your ADAM server from your
AIX machine), is it possible that jxplorer appends the base DN to the
bind DN, and maybe that's what's missing
