Default User stanza

www.unixbabuforum.inI have been instructed to update several of the items in the default
user stanza of the /etc/security/user file to increase our password
security. Some of the userids will also have to be updated to retain
the old setting without the password security changes. Is there a way
to change the default stanza without editing the /etc/security/user file
? Also - does the default apply to the root user ?

www.unixbabuforum.inchsec is your friend

chsec -f /etc/security/user -s default -a <attribute>

Yes, the default applies to root with the exception of root get loginretries = 0 to prevent you from locking the account out. Might be some others that don't apply; but I know that loginretries is one that doesn't.
