Use Unzip under AIX

www.unixbabuforum.inWhen I use unzip under AIX 7, it seems like this command doe's not exist under this OS :

# unzip toto.zip
command not found

Is there a package or file set to install or other tool ...for such purpose.

www.unixbabuforum.inTypically, zip and unzip and zcat are the same program, and they figure out what to do by looking at the execution name, which can be a soft link to the real program.

zip can often take options that make it do the unzip: typically zip -d for decompress

www.unixbabuforum.inYou would need to install unzip rpm for AIX, as it does not come by "default" on aix.

Link: http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/power/software/aix/linux/toolbo x/ezinstall.html

1) Download unzip rpm from the site above.
2) SFTP this to your AIX server in tmp.
3) Login to your AIX server as root.
4) Check any previous package exists : rpm -qa | grep -i zip
5) cd /tmp
6) rpm -ivh <unzip_rpm_filename>

www.unixbabuforum.inYou must install unzip from AIX-Toolbox CD.
Or down load rpm package from next.

www.unixbabuforum.inYou can downlod source code of zip/unzip and compile it

www.unixbabuforum.inThere is no unzip command in AIX, U can try outside and transfer through
filezilla or other third party clients.

If there is Teamcenter Application from that we can unzip the data.
