I have a sun v480 and I get this message when I do a probe-scsi-all at the OK prompt

www.unixbabuforum.inI have a sun v480 and I get this message when I do a probe-scsi-all at the OK prompt and when I try to install solaris 10 it says no disks found

ok probe-scsi-all
/pci@9,600000/SUNW,qlc@2
LiD HA LUN --- Port WWN --- ----- Disk description -----
0 0 0 21000004cfd9e4a0 SEAGATE ST336607FSUN36G 0207
1 1 0 21000004cfd9c97d SEAGATE ST336607FSUN36G 0207

/pci@8,600000/QLGC,qla@1,1
QLogic QLA2312 Fibre Channel Host Adapter fcode version 2.00.06 04/07/03
Firmware version 3.01.20
Error: Timed-out waiting for the firmware Ready state
Possible causes: No cable, incorrect connection mode, incorrect data rate

www.unixbabuforum.inFirst off, does this controller support booting? I seem to recall that some
fibre channel controllers wouldn't work as boot devices. Has this system
*ever* booted in this config?

If not, check that out and fix that, else

From the OBP prompt, issue the following command:

ok boot cdrom -asw

That will give you a solaris env. See what happens when
you use format.

# format

You may need to label the drives.

There's more, but do this and report back...
