Creating Cronjob for Daily Reject CDR Report

www.unixbabuforum.inHow do I create a cronjob for extracting a daily reject cdr report? I already have my sql script created. Where do I put the script? Do I need to create a .sh files?

www.unixbabuforum.inJust make your script executable and make sure that it will be executed properly with appropriate result, and then edit the crontab, enter the path of your script and the proper time for execution. Then save and exit the crontab.

Here you can find useful examples of crontab, check it out, it will help you through this process :

http://www.thegeekstuff.com/2009/06/15-practical-crontab-examples/

www.unixbabuforum.in1)write your script and try to use full path for commands and files
2)check it (execute it)
3)execute "man 5 crontab"
4)execute "crontab -e" and put your stuff ..
5)make sure "crond" is running
6)finish...

www.unixbabuforum.inThis is the kind of task where you need to do your homework well, check that the previous script has terminated, make sure you don't clog the cpu, saturate file system accumulate loads of files: Create a test and verification strategy. Check the output generated several days in a row, be sure of file permissions, optimize your sql script, go back a week, a month later to be sure everything is OK.
