Disable USB Storage Media for All Users in RHEL 5.8

www.unixbabuforum.inHow to disable usb storage media for all users in RHEL 5.8?

www.unixbabuforum.inUsers must "mount" usb for using

You can write very simple rule and put it under /etc/udev/rules.d

or you can use "chmod" command and remove read permission

of device name...
www.unixbabuforum.inJust set permission for the mount point for root only
chmod -R 700 /dev/usbname?
you can do the same for group and owner, chgrp chown
www.unixbabuforum.inBetter to create a UDEV rule with a script.
As soon as any USB s plugged in, it will discard and wont mount at all. So
no question of read/write on USB.

www.unixbabuforum.inIn rhel have kernel parameter for USB_STORAGE
you can rmmode usb_storage and any user can't use usb storage

www.unixbabuforum.inYou can write a very small/simple "rule" and put it under
/etc/udev/rules.d
under your rule, you can decide what you want
