Log into Sun Solaris Storage using CAM

www.unixbabuforum.inWe have Sun Storage to login to storage? How to shutdown storage? How to login into storage using CAM(Common Array Manager)? How to check whether any errors are in storage or not? How to shutdown sun(two node) cluster server?

www.unixbabuforum.in6140 storage should have two controllers at rear, each controller has an
Ethernet port also a serial port, small din.
Putty or hyperterm on laptop connect to 1st serial port (D9 > small din)
cable should be provided.
Set term emulation on laptop to vt100, set connection speed to 38400, 8,
none, 1 flow control none.
When connected to array serial port press break on laptop then press space
bar. Press S and enter pass word kra16wen.
You will be presented with a service interface menu, press two and give the
port an IP address subnet and gateway. When finished press Q, the
controller will reset. Do the same for the other controller.
Cable both interfaces and try to ping each address, load CAM 6.6 on work
station with in the controllers subnet. Once done register the array.

CAM has an error log and if email notice is configured correctly you will be
sent notice of errors.
The array itself can not be shut down only powered off, ensuring that any
volumes from the array are unmounted.

www.unixbabuforum.inYou get into CAM by aiming a web browser at the server where CAM is installed.

Once logged in the "Common Array Manager" will be one ( or the only ) application available. Just double click on it.

To get to the servers web interface aim a browser at https://X.X.X.X:6789
where X.X.X.X is the IP of the server with CAM installed and 6789 is the default port number it listens on.
